IoTAS Can help with your IPv6 requirements
The growth of the Internet over the past two decades has pushed the limits of what can be used by Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4), specifically its 32-bit address space. Fixed line and mobile network operators rely on Network Address and Port Translation (NAPT) to overcome the limited availability of IPv4 addresses by sharing a single globally unique routable IPv4 address with multiple users.
Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) uses a 128-bit space, allowing for a range of globally unique IP addresses of a substantially higher order of magnitude than is possible for IPv4. The commercial growth of M2M and IoT – examples of which include smart energy meters and automotive devices – makes the provision of additional IP address capacity essential. Terminals have been IPv6-capable for many years but have until recently been unable to use this capability. New networks, such as the IP Multimedia Sub-system (IMS) networks behind Voice-over-LTE, are increasingly adopting IPv6.
IoTAS have successfully completed Carrier Aggregations testing in the UK (Telefonica o2, Vodafone and EE UK), China (China Mobile), Australia (Telstra) and Japan (NTT DoCoMo) in accordance with the GCF F5.1 field testing requirements.
